Optimized Pathfinder Wizard Blaster (Spellslinger)

This Optimized Pathfinder Wizard Blaster is an Asian Elf named Score Ch’ing Raymond (aka “Scorching Ray Man”). Through spellslinger he fires powerful rays, lines, cones infused with sorcerer orc and draconic bloodline powers. If the pistol malfunctions he cast the old fashion way until the pistol is mended. Now time for a song from Ohio Players to play respect to Score Ch’ing Raymond.

When you shoot those rays you got me so amazed and I kind like child. Yes I do. When you ignite a burst someone’s going to get hurt Best believe it child… cause it true.

FIRE, Da Da Da. Your setting creatures on FIRE. Woo Woo Woo Woo Woo.

FIRE, Da Da Da. Your setting creatures on FIRE. Da Da Da Da.

Note on Build Modifications – This pathfinder optimized wizard build is highly viable even without the campaign traits or Spellslinger archetype. I mention these because some GMs don’t like guns or traits. The heart of the build is the Sorcerer Crossblooded archetype, as well as, the Orc and Draconic Bloodlines.

Build Summary – Sorcerer1 (Crossblooded Archetype) / Wizard14 (Spellslinger Archetype) (School: School of the Gun) Sorcerer Bloodline are Orc and Draconic (Red Dragon for both). Opposition Schools are Abjuration, Divination, Enchantment and Necromancy. Standard Elf Traits.

Raising Stats – For 25 point builds put all leveling stats into dexterity. For the 15 and 20 point builds put 1 point into Int and the rest in Dex. These Stats don’t include bonuses from equipment listed below.

Figured off of an Intelligence of 18. Items will make Intelligence higher. Place extra points in the Knowledge skills.

Spells: The order in which the spells appear each level is the suggested order in which they should be learned. The wizard spells listed below assume that you only gain the spells per level that a wizard gets automatically. You will obviously get more than that. Choose additional spells learned wisely to match your campaign and party needs.

  • Sorcerer – 0) Ray of Frost, Disrupt Undead, Spark, Mending; 1) Enlarge Person
  • Wizard – Underlined spells are those that are usually prepared.  The other spells are spells you would have most likely learned advancing (though there could be many more you have learned).

  1. How do you get admixture with school of the gun? I thought the Gun meant you gave up the ability to specialize in evocation (or am I totally missing something)?

    • Spooky says:

Yeah, that is an error in the build. You cannot have Admixture because you are stuck with ‘School of Gun’.

So you will lose a lot of Evocation versatility with Spellslinger. But the higher ‘accuracy’ still makes this a formidable build.

      • admin says:

admixture is not in the builds. It was long since taken out. I will update all of the page soon taking out the old comments.

Oh, I see, I left a paragraph in that talks about admixture. Sorry. I will remove it. However, admixture is not a part of the builds.

  2. The Mighty Kobold says:

Just asking, why Red (for fire bonuses) and not another dragon type? In terms of flavor is it possible to choose a different dragon and still get decent results (ie white for bonuses to cold spells)?

  3. Itof says:

can’t have consecrate spell feat, not an aasimar

  4. Sean says:

The build is OK, but I wouldn’t ay it is really optimized. What makes it stand out? What makes it optimal?

    • admin says:

Its an optimized blaster. Some people like playing blasters rather than the run of the mill controllers, who are admitted strong choices. You do realize that the damage and the DCs from this build are pretty impressive for a blaster. You need to run the numbers my friend

  5. singingzombies says:

How did you take Spell Specialization as your Wizard bonus feat? Only Item Creation, Metamagic, and Spell Mastery are legal bonus feats

  6. MLG says:

i love this build would love to see other recommended feats or bloodlines to spice this up some but none the less this is tied for my favorite build you created keep it up and i hope to see more

  7. hacnslash says:

Would the Mage bullets ability only keep you from having the cantrips from Wizard class or both Wizard and Sorcerer?

  8. Sideslip says:

Can’t get Selective spell till level 10, because it requires 10 ranks in Spellcraft.
